Gesi Schilling is a South Florida based photographer. She has photographed for various publications, including The New York Times, The New Yorker, Complex, Cultured, Vogue, and The Miami Herald, where she began her career in photojournalism in 2010. Gesi created The Sunny Project, a photo print sale that raised funds for local nonprofits supporting vulnerable populations during the pandemic, and co-curated an accompanying exhibition entitled Sun Pours Daylong. She has documented more than two-hundred weddings and a decade of the O, Miami Poetry Festival, with whom she collaborated on a project entitled Remembrance to Order. Gesi is self-taught, and holds a degree in Visual Anthropology from the University of Florida.
